The Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas welcomed in January and surely another exciting year for technology.
2010 was a great year for mobile’s convergence with the web; another iPhone and, more significantly, the explosion of Android powered mobiles phones. Not to mention Apple managing to shift 17 million iPads in just 6 months and making tablet technology mainstream (Apple showing the way once again).
While the mobile market was growing into itself, TV manufacturers were trying to convince us to ditch our 1-year old HD TVs for 3D TVs and dodgy specs. Surely a red herring while TV manufacturers get their head around the more significant issue of convergence with the web.
At CES, Panasonic were showing off their Viera TV. This video shows how TVs connected with the web could really enhance the user experience. An increasingly social web starting to talk to more and more devices is a compelling proposition and something one would expect to see more of in 2011. Talking fridges? Not just yet.
