The Onion News Network is satirical spoofery reminiscent of the UK’s Brass Eye in the 1990s. A chuckle at times while addressing issues from an intelligent (albeit a tad too edgy at times) angle. And with 2012 being a big election year around the world (especially in the US) there is bound to be plenty of election “coverage”.
Where lives are lived out more and more on an open and connected web, this “report” shows how future politicians could be hindering their chances of office. Hanging out dirty laundry in public and finding skeletons in cupboards (House of Cards style) could be a lot easier as generations learn the art of life in public.
Perhaps there’ll be modules on social media self-management for political party newbies. Keeping future politicians’ pasts well groomed to avoid embarrassment.
